Pampered in Paradise

Monica May's Aruba Getaway Day 6
Monica May's Aruba Getaway Day 6

There were so many wonderful experiences that I've shared with you this week that it's so hard to believe the journey is finally coming to a close.  Today we prepared ourselves to be pampered, but before I tell you what that entailed.....let's just say we made one more run downtown.  This time we took it even further, and met 2 Northerners who were on the same mission - we all wanted to see where black folk lived.  We hopped on 2 buses this time and found our way to San Nicolas.  It is in the southern part of the island about 20 minutes from Oranjestad and houses the majority of people of color.  The couple we met had a medical emergency. Monique stopped the driver (in Spanish) so she could get off and buy something for Mr. Ron to drink to bring his sugar level back to normal.  His wife, Ms. Gerri loved her some Monique after that....After that little episode we were off to the flea market for some last minute souvenirs.  Then it was off to prepare ourselves to be pampered.

The Hyatt Regency Aruba offers a package for two that includes a full 4-course dining experience.  To say it was delicious is an under statement; to say our waiter, Sedney, was astonishingly handsome is also an under statement -so let's just say both were divine!

As we reflect on the end of the journey we'd be totally remissed to not thank Amy, Avery and the generous marketing staff of the Hyatt Regency Aruba, Karen and her knowledgeable  and professional  assistants, Clarissa and Edwin from the beach bar, the wonderful ladies at the spa, housekeeping and our favorite gentlemen at the door who kept watch over Monique and my every coming and going.  Of course I have to thank Robert Morgan for filling in for me while I was away.

Aruba is an amazingly beautiful island and is just as safe as anywhere in the world - when you travel smart. In essence....Aruba is absolutely dushi!

We'll talk Monday family - now it's time for Monique and I to pack and catch  the next AirTran Airways flight back to the Sunshine State...Please make sure to check our photos and enjoy the trip as if you were with us.  Bon nochi
