Located in Orlando, Florida, the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center is one of seven venues which together form the Orlando Cetroplex collection. The Bob Carr Performing Arts Center originally opened as 'the Municipal Auditorium' on February 21, 1927 with an inaugural performance by the La Scala Grand Opera Company of Philadelphia. In 1975, construction on the venue began after the city decided it was time to expand and renovate the facility. In May of 1978, the auditorium was renamed 'the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center' in honor of one of Orlando’s finest mayors.

The venue is proof that it isn't only the big stadiums and arenas which are capable of being successful hosts to their cities' biggest talents: the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center currently serves as home to the Orlando Ballet, Orlando Opera and Orlando Philharmonic. In addition to the various shows and events put on by its tenants, the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center schedule also annually hosts the Festival of Orchestras.

Indeed, the Bob Carr Center schedule annually features a number of shows, exhibits and events, and the venue has also become a popular stop-over point for both local and touring music and theater acts.
