ORLANDO, Fla. —

"We have had great success with our Blueprint program," Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer told WDBO after 20 residents of Parramore have been hired on to help clean up the demolition of Amway Arena.

The former home of the Orlando Magic was imploded last Sunday morning. In it's place, the city will build what's called a Creative Village.

Although no more people will be hired for the clean up, Dyer said the crew overseeing the Creative Village project is looking for workers.

The office is located at 1200 West South Street. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. The phone number is (407) 246-3721.

Material from the arena will be recycled on the site.

Dyer said Creative Village is being modeled after Medical City taking shape at Lake Nona, but focused on the digital media. He called it "transit oriented development, urban in-fill with a lot of park space." A senior housing project is planned for the site as well.
