The highly anticipated movie Django Unchained did great in the box office on Christmas day. The movie made $15.5 million on its opening day, making it number two on the charts. The out of the ordinary, western slavery film directed by Quentin Tarantino was only expected to make about $14 million on the first day. But the liberal use of the N-word, and its depiction of slavery did turn some critics off including Spike Lee who called it disrespectful.
