A member of gospel music’s Winan’s family is going to jail. Michael Winans Jr., nephew to BeBe and CeCe Winans was sentenced to about 14 years in prison on Wednesday. Winans was a part of a nearly $8 million Ponzi scheme that he promoted in church pulpits and attracted more than one thousand investors in 2007 and 2008. He sold Saudi Arabian oil bonds and promised full return within two months even after he found out that the bonds were bogus. But instead Winans used the money for personal use and to pay back previous investors.
