Designing video games is a fun and exciting way to engage in STEM learning and develop 21st century skills. The National STEM Video Game Challenge and the Institute of Museum and Library Services have joined forces to present a special video game design workshop for YOU!
Participants will:
-Receive an introduction to game design and learn about the elements of game systems
-Complete a number of hands-on, physical game design exercises resulting in the making and modifying of simple, real-world games
-Design an original digital game using Gamestar Mechanic
-Complete and share digital games with the other workshop participants, play the games of other participants and receive play-testing feedback, allowing time for iteration and improvement of game designs
-Learn how to submit games to the National STEM Video Game Challenge for the opportunity to earn recognition and prizes!
