In this special two day training, community development practitioners, housing professionals and local government officials will learn about the latest developments and best practices under United States Department of Housing & Urban Developmentâs (HUD) Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) requirements, which spell out the fair housing obligations of states, cities and towns across America._______Every public and private entity that receives Community Development Block Grant funds or related support from the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) has an obligation to âAffirmatively Further Fair Housing.â This training, approved by and funded with support from HUDÊ¼s Office of Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity Fair Housing Initiatives Program, will focus on how those communities and agencies receiving funds can ensure compliance with the Fair Housing Act and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve housing opportunity.Participants will gain working knowledge on how to comply with the AFFH rules, the obligations of the Community Development Block Grant program recipients and related HUD-funded initiatives that engage in government contracting, consulting, supporting, training and other services to ensure compliance, as well as learn about model programs and innovative approaches.
