World Sight Day 2012 / Education for the Sighted:

WSD 2012 Program Agenda
10:00 AM to 10:45 - Sight Ed 101 - A UCF faculty member will present a classroom lecture simulation demonstrating how inaccessibility “feels” to students who may not see well or not at all.
Intermission/Break
11:00 – 12:00 – Knights Panel & Lighthouse Central Florida – Meet a panel of Knights who will share their challenges and accomplishments each day living with little or no sight.
Here’s an opportunity to meet a diverse group of people with different perspectives on life as only they know it. Meet members of Lighthouse Central Florida and learn tips about how to assist.
Intermission/Break
12:15 – 2:00 – Film Going Blind, by Joseph Lovett. This is a must see film! Film is accessible with subtitles/captioning and audio description.
Other:
--Captioning and sign language interpreters services will be arranged by SDS.
--Information about World Sight Day and White Cane Day (flyers, giveaways, etc.) will be distributed on Wednesday October 10, 2012 outside the Student Union.
--Lighthouse Central Florida will join us
